Answers1. What kind of issues do you treat? I am licensed in both Mental Health Counseling and Marriage & Family Therapy in Florida, so I work with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, life stage changes, as well as with couples and families. 2. How often will I have to come in? Most clients will come in every 2 to 3 weeks at first; more often if there is a crisis, less often as things improve. I give "homework," tailored to your needs. I find this empowers clients and the time between sessions offers a fair trial of the homework. The focus is on brief, strength-based, solution-focused therapy. 3.What about payment? Do you take my insurance? The fee per 50 minute counseling session is $115.00 through April 30, 2024. A sliding scale is available; those requesting a reduced fee will have to verify income. The detailed fee schedule provided prior to the first appointment includes information on missed appointment fees, emergencies and other services. I do not work with insurance. I can also process payments through your HSA and FSA. I also have a contract with the Camaraderie Foundation, which can be reached 4. Is therapy like what we see in the movies? I sure hope not! I provide a peaceful, respectful place for healing and growth. 5. How do I get started? Please call or email today. I provide a brief free phone consult (usually 10 minutes), which gives you a chance to interview me to see if I seem like the right person for you to work with, and lets me ascertain if my skill set is the right one for your individual needs. 6. I provide research-based therapy, personalized for each client's particular needs. I consider personality traits and client preferences. Many people want to incorporate their deeply-held values into the counseling process; for them, their faith is incorporated into the counseling process. Clients of all faiths, and clients who do not have any religious belief or association, are very welcome. |
